Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT) was established in 2002 through a joint vision of the Government of Himachal Pradesh and the Founder Chairman of Jaypee Group, Shri Jai Prakash Gaur. The university was created under Act No. 14 of 2002 and approved by the University Grants Commission under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act. JUIT is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Academic activities began in July 2002, offering undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in engineering, biotechnology, sciences, and humanities. The University has been accredited by NAAC in three cycles (2011, 2017, and 2024) and currently holds an A+ grade with a CGPA of 3.40.
